Matthew Feola ‘25 is the subject of The News’ third Cameron’s Column. 

John: “How do you react when you wake up and see snow outside?”

Matthew: “I guess I hope that there’s no school. I’m joyful of what’s to come!”    

John: “Do you regularly wash your hands?” 

Matthew: “No, maybe like once every two weeks. And I don’t use hand sanitizer either.” 

John: “What emotions do you feel when school is not canceled after it snows?”

Matthew: “Angry and pissed off beyond belief.”  

John: “What emotions do you feel when school is canceled after it snows?”

Matthew: “Intense joy, probably a similar feeling to having your firstborn child.”  

John: “What is your defining characteristic?” 

Matthew: “Selling donuts.” 

John: “What is your favorite Easter dinner?”

Matthew: “I like sweet potato casserole with almonds on top.”  

John: “What is your least favorite Easter dinner?” 

Matthew: “Probably ham. I’m just not going to eat a lot of ham. It’s too sweet, I’m probably just going to take a couple of bites.”  

John: “What is your favorite airport?”  

Matthew: “Probably the Hawaii airport…I think I saw a monkey there.” 

John: “What biological phenomenon most excites you?”  

Matthew: “I love the Phlogiston Theory.  

Editor adds context: The Phlogiston Theory is a hypothetical explanation for the transfer of heat by means of an invisible, odorless particle, first proposed in 1667 by Johann Joachim Becher and quickly adapted by Antoine Lavoisier. 

John: “How will you be remembered at Gilman?”  

Matthew: “The donut man!”
